Why do we use character sheets?

A character sheet, also known as a character board or character study, is a useful way to document how a character appears, poses, and gestures. These allow an artist to visualize how a character should look in different sorts of mediums such as animation, comics, and video games.

The premise for my story is that a boy is trapped in a video game and needs the help of a robotic duck to escape.

Let’s start with the boy, who I want to be around 8 years old.

I wanted to be as open as possible about the type of illustration. This is where “style randomness” came into play. I rerolled my prompt a few times to get a style I liked.
